Repainting a lived-in room is mostly about what happens before the colour goes on: floors and furniture covered, holes and dents filled, surfaces sanded, then the coats. The result should look like the room was built that way.

Dark to white

A recent repaint took a bedroom from a dark grey-blue back to a clean white. Dark colours need enough coats to stop them ghosting through, so the job is planned for that from the start.

Protecting the house

Drop sheets go down, edges are masked and furniture is moved or covered before any sanding or painting starts.

Can you paint white over a dark colour?

Yes. It takes more coats than a like-for-like colour, and the quote allows for that up front.

Do you paint single rooms?

Yes. Big or small, a single room is fine.
